Chamaedorea elegans, commonly known as Parlour palm are an easy to grow species native to Southern Meicco and Guatemala.  It is perfect as a houseplant due to its low light tolerance and slow growth habit.  They will grow best in bright indirect light but will tolerate shadier positions.   

Beginner plant, pet friendly, low light tolerant.
